Efes Turkish Cuisine - Bedford

When we couldn't decide what we wanted for supper we took a drive out to this restaurant rich area of the Bedford highway. Efes Turkish Cuisine looked inviting from the outside, cozy yet elegant, so we headed in. We were warmly greeted at the door and seated quickly. We loved the little touches in the decor, the rose on the table, and the interior door that kept the cold away as people came and went. The menu has lots of options for meat or plant based meals. We each had a starter and a kebab main dish. Both the chicken and lamb were prepared perfectly, and the Turkish rice and salad complimented the flavours of the kebabs. Each plate was beautifullly presented and full of flavour. You could tell the care went into the preparation of each item on the menu. The service was fantastic, warm and friendly, without a long wait and lots of check ins to see how we were doing. There was no rush to finish up, even though we weren't able to fit in dessert. While it was my first time at this location, I had been to the Spring Garden location before it moved and was never disappointed. Excited to try their new location closer to downtown, which has just opened, and to return with friends to this Bedford location!

Really delicious food! This was our first visit and even our young kids liked it, and that’s not always easy to do. The food came to our table hot and tasted very fresh like it was just off the grill. What a great first experience, we will be back for sure!

Such a satisfying lunch! Highly recommend trying the Yogurt Kebab! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it won't disappoint me. It comes with cubes of pita bread topped with tomato and yogurt sauce, plus perfectly seasoned meat. The mix of soft, fresh, and crispy textures is just amazing. I had something similar in Turkey called Iskender Kebab, and it totally brought back those memories! Also, the pita bread they serve at the start was so good. seriously blew me away. And a big shoutout to the super kind and friendly gentleman who served us. Absolutely recommend this place!

Really nice atmosphere here. The lamb and lamb chops were tender and juicy, definitely a treat for meat lovers. It would be even better if there were a larger meat option for those with a bigger appetite.

One of the best experiences I've had in halifax. We had the eggplant sauté as starter and the mixed kebab for the main course and everything was absolutely astonishing. Naćib was our server and he provided amazing service throughout the night.

Such an amazing experience! Very tasty food with all the necessary details of a Mediterranean cuisine. Kebabs which were grilled chicken and beef were very well cooked and they came with salad and rice. Don't miss the world famous turkish desserts, we had kunafa and baklava with Turkish tea. I LOVED the atmosphere and design. The tea cam in special cups which are for this region (Turkey), all these details made the place so welcoming.

We got an appetizer sampler called the meze plate. The Cubed eggplant in a tangy housemade tomato sauce was my favorite on the sampler and spinach tarator was also delicious. The cheese borek, cheese wrapped in phyllo was good with the dips. For mains, they ran out of mousaka but the waiter suggested the yogurt kebab which was lamb and chicken served on a grilled pita with house yogurt and tomato sauce. It was delicious and so were the lamb chops. All served with side salad and buttery rice. I would highly recommend the yogurt kebab. The Turkish coffee is served with chocolate. I would definitely go back. Update: I went back and they had 1 moussaka left and so I was in luck! It’s going to be my new favourite dish they offer! I also had the cheesecake for dessert.

EFES on the Bedford Highway is a true Halifax gem! The kebabs are tender and flavorful, the Turkish salad is fresh and vibrant, and the beet salad is absolutely outstanding — a must-try! Crispy falafels round out the meal beautifully. What truly made the night unforgettable was our incredible server, Amy, whose warmth and attention took the experience to the next level. Can’t wait to come back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
